Murwara (Katni) Municipal Corporation, with population of about 2.2 Lacs is Murwara sub district's only municipal corporation located in Murwara sub district of Katni district in the state Madhya Pradesh in India. Total geographical area of Murwara (Katni) municipal corporation is 69 km2. Population density of the city is 3236 persons per km2. There are 45 wards in the city, among them Murwara (katni) Ward No 15 is the most populous ward with population of about 15 thousand and Murwara (katni) Ward No 37 is the least populous ward with population of 1192. Nearest railway station is Katni which is within the city. Murwara (katni) is the sub district head quarter of the city. District head quarter of the city is Katni. Bhopal is the state head quarter of the city and is 462 km far from here. Yearly average rainfall of the city is 775 mm. Maximum temperature here reaches up to 42°C and minimum temperature goes down to 9°C.
